'Big One' Ends Daytona 500 For Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin Among Others Sunday's Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway ended a bit early for a few drivers after a big crash at the end of Stage 1.

Crash and DNF in Daytona 500 Hamlin crashed and finished 37th in the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Impact Hamlin would appear to have the speed to contend for the win as typical when the Cup Series visits Daytona. However, the Joe Gibbs Racing star would find trouble early in this 500-mile battle. Hamlin would get tangled in a multi-car crash on lap 62. He and several other drivers would get significant damage. Hamlin's No. 11 Toyota would suffer terminal damage and be retired to the garage area for the afternoon. The DNF was a disappointing result for a driver who is usually a major contender to win the Daytona 500.

Wins Last Chance Qualifier 1 Hamlin won the Last Chance Qualifier Race 1 in the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum Sunday afternoon.

Impact Hamlin started on the pole for this 10-car field and led wire-to-wire the 50-lap heat race. He held off a hard-charging Kevin Harvick to capture the win and advance into Sunday's main event. Joining Hamlin and Harvick will be third-place finisher A.J. Allmendinger.
