Engine Change NASCAR announced that the No. 43 of Erik Jones would be dropping to the rear for the start of Sunday's Daytona 500 due to an engine change. Impact Due to the engine change, Jones will have to give up his qualifying spot and fall to the rear of the field for Sunday's Daytona 500. In addition, he'll have to start from the rear of the field in the following weekend's Daytona road course event due to the single engine rule. Jones should have good speed, and should be able to overcome the handicap of starting from the rear of the field at Daytona.
