Crash and DNF in GEICO 500 Elliott crashed and finished 38th in the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway Monday afternoon.
Impact As one of the top contenders to win, Elliott was a shocking early-exit from this Talladega race. The Hendrick Motorsports star led just 3 laps for the day, and just didn't have the speed to hang inside the Top 10 like some of the stronger drivers. On lap 133 disaster would strike the No. 9 Chevrolet. Elliott would get shoved by Brad Keselowski into a block by Joey Logano. The high-speed sandwich would see Elliott slam into the outside wall and bring his day to an end. It was his second DNF of the season.

Poor Finish at Homestead Logano had a tough race and finished 27th in the Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway Sunday evening.
Impact There was a big traffic jam on pit road early in stage 1. Logano would rear-end the No. 00 Chevrolet and cause substantial damage to his Ford's front end. Logano would fall two laps down from there and never recover. Later in the night the Penske Racing star would get caught up in a lap 172 incident. It would just add salt to an already open wound. Logano would limp home 27th in a damaged Ford Mustang. The poor finish snapped a two-race Top-10 streak for the veteran driver.
