Indy 500 Interest Team owner Roger Penske said Thursday that NASCAR Cup Series champion Blaney had expressed recent interest in a potential Indianapolis 500 bid, NASCAR.com reports. Impact A handful of NASCAR stars have run the "double" on Memorial Day weekend with Kyle Larson the latest to attempt the feat next season. Blaney has begun expressing interest in the Indianapolis 500, although his boss Roger Penske isn't quite as enthusiastic as the young NASCAR champion. "Honestly, it's something I've bounced around in my mind for a couple years, something I feel like if you could do the double, that's cool," Blaney said. "Larson's doing it next year.
