Runner-up Finish at Talladega Blaney finished second in the YellaWood 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday afternoon. Impact Blaney came to Talladega seeking a playoff-advancing win, and he'd almost pull that off in the YellaWood 500. He would start mid-pack but quickly move to the front. Blaney led 31 laps and would take the win in stage 1. In the closing laps the driver of the No. 12 Ford would be in position to win, but Chase Elliott would run him down and pass him on the final lap. The runner-up finish was still a good result and puts Blaney in a good points position heading to the Charlotte ROVAL next weekend.
