Tyler Reddick uses final Brickyard 400 qualifying run to win the pole

Tyler Reddick took advantage of the final qualifying run Saturday to post the fastest lap in the final round of qualifying and earn his first Brickyard 400 pole

Claims Brickyard 400 Pole Reddick won the Busch pole for the Brickyard 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 181.932 mph.

Impact The 23XI Racing star put on a great performance Saturday at the Brickyard. Reddick advanced into the final round and edged Denny Hamlin to claim his second pole of the season and seventh-career pole position. The driver of the No. 45 Toyota has been very strong on intermediate and larger ovals this season. He'll be the driver to beat in Sunday's Brickyard 400.

Leads Brickyard Practice Reddick was fastest in Happy Hour practice for the Brickyard 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Friday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 182.581 mph.

Impact The driver of the No. 45 Toyota stayed on a roll on this larger ovals with good speed in the lone practice for NASCAR's return to the Indianapolis oval. Reddick beat out Ryan Blaney by a comfortable margin to lead the session. Reddick also had the best 10 consecutive lap average, which is another great indicator. Reddick looks primed for a Top-5 run in Sunday's Brickyard 400.

The driver of the No. 45 Toyota has had some good performances at Pocono Raceway over past two seasons. It looks like he could challenge for his first-career win at the track Sunday afternoon.

He didn't have the speed to lead laps, but Reddick would push inside the Top 5 late. He couldn't catch Brad Keselowski, but will still grab the strong fourth-place finish. It was Reddick's sixth Top 5 of the season and second in the last two races.
