Crash and DNF in Duel Byron crashed and finished 19th in the Bluegreen Vacations Duel 2 for the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway Thursday night. Impact The Hendrick Motorsports youngster dominated in stretches during this 60-lap event. Byron would lead a total of 34 laps and seemed poised to challenge for the win. However, a multi-car accident with 3 laps to go would take him and a handful of other drivers out of action. The damage to the No. 24 Chevrolet is bad enough that the team will have to go to the backup car for Sunday's race, and forfeit their outside pole starting spot.
