Fifth-Place at COTA Byron finished fifth in the Echopark Texas Grand Prix NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas Sunday afternoon.

Impact The pole-sitter would lead 28 laps and battle for dominance with Tyler Reddick the entire event. However, the late cautions and overtime restarts would conspire to take Byron out of contention. He'd lose the lead with 4 laps to go and would fade to fifth-place by the final restart/checkered flag. It was Byron's third Top-5 finish of the season and great rebound performance from his Atlanta crash and DNF.

Wins Texas Grand Prix Pole Byron won the pole for the Echopark Texas Grand Prix NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas Saturday. He turned a fast lap of 93.882 mph.

Impact Group qualifying would see Byron easily advance from his group into the final round at Circuit of the Americas. Once there, the Hendrick Motorsports youngster would beat out Tyler Reddick to claim the pole position for the Echopark Texas Grand Prix. It was Byron's first pole of the season and ninth of his Cup Series career. He'll be a Top-5 threat Sunday afternoon at COTA.
