Impact Evaluations of Beal's wrist remain ongoing more than a week after the Wizards initially shut him down with the injury. He'll be sidelined for a fifth straight game Thursday, and even if the Wizards are able to definitely rule out surgery for Beal, his absence will likely be extended into next week, if not through the All-Star break. Aaron Holiday has started in place of Beal for the past four games but hasn't offered much from a fantasy perspective with averages of 7.5 points, 2.5 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 21.8 minutes.

Impact It's a bad sign that Beal had to meet with a specialist in New York City outside of the Wizards' organization, so it won't be surprising if his absence extends past one week. He's dealing with persistent swelling and pain. Aaron Holiday got the start Tuesday and could remain in the lineup for the duration of Beal's absence.

Impact Beal apparently sustained the injury during Saturday's blowout loss to Memphis, which he finished with just nine points on 2-of-11 shooting in 35 minutes. The star guard will miss both halves of the Wizards' Tuesday/Wednesday back-to-back set, so the soonest he could be back would be Saturday's home matchup against the Suns. Considering the Wizards have only three games on their Week 16 schedule, Beal should probably be pulled from lineups in most weekly leagues.
