Spencer Dinwiddie - Improved performance Wednesday Dinwiddie closed with 19 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), two rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 105-103 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Impact Dinwiddie turned in an encouraging performance Wednesday, tallying 19 points and seven assists. After a lean couple of weeks, anyone rostering Dinwiddie was breathing a sigh of relief after this effort. It remains to be seen whether this was the start of an upward trend or simply an outlier. For now, managers should sit tight and hope that he works his way back into starters minutes.

Cameron Johnson - Struggles continue in loss Johnson ended with 13 points (6-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, five assists and one block in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 105-103 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Impact Johnson scored no more than 15 points for the fifth time in the past six games, continuing to struggle with his shot. He has been well outside the top 250 over the past two weeks, averaging just 9.6 points per game on 32.7 percent shooting. He will be better than this but managers may have to recalibrate when projecting his fantasy value moving forward. Based on what we have seen this season, he could be on the outside looking in when it comes to the top 100.

Nic Claxton - Strong double-double in loss Claxton had 12 points (4-5 FG, 4-10 FT), 12 rebounds, one block and three steals over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 105-103 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Impact Claxton tabled yet another double-double Wednesday, adding four combined steals and blocks for good measure. With basically no competition for minutes, Claxton has been able to put together another strong fantasy season. With averages of 12.1 points, 10.1 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 2.2 blocks, he is basically on track to repeat what he did last season, putting him firmly in the discussion to be a top-50 player.

Impact The 32 minutes were a season-high total for Smith, who played all 11 seconds of overtime and notably closed out the game as the Nets' point guard over starter Spencer Dinwiddie. With Dinwiddie limited to just 20 minutes Monday and now having been held under 30 minutes five times in the Nets' last six games, Smith appears to be encroaching on his role. While he shouldn't be looked to as a reliable source of scoring even if he supplants Dinwiddie on the top unit or continues to see the larger share of minutes, Smith at the very least profiles as a strong streaming option for steals and assists, and he's also shown the ability to provide above-average rebounding production for a guard.

Impact O'Neale was one rebound away from registering his third double-double of the season. Monday's performance was the third time this season he has connected on five or more three-point shots. It was O'Neale's second double-digit outing of the new year, and he is averaging 6.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 23.3 minutes per game in January.

Impact Thomas has now scored 20-plus points and attempted 20-plus shots in each of his last two appearances. His eight three-point misses Monday were his most since Dec. 16 against the Warriors when he went 5-for-13 from beyond the arc. Thomas has always been a high volume, high variance shooter, but he is shooting 31.7 percent from the field and 24.1 percent from three in six games so far in January.
