Impact Johnson has made back-to-back starts and has looked surprisingly efficient in both games, notching 31 points, 15 rebounds and six assists combined while making five of his 11 three-point attempts. Dario Saric continues to work his way back from a minor injury, but the fact that Johnson logged 40 minutes in a close game as this one suggests he might remain in the starting lineup moving forward.

Impact Johnson remained in the starting lineup Friday, stepping in for Dario Saric, who was working his way back from a minor ankle injury. Johnson was fine in 25 minutes, although the lack of three-pointers was somewhat disappointing. Saric scored 16 points in 27 minutes off the bench and it is unclear what the rotation will look like moving forward. No matter his role, Johnson is not a player to prioritize unless you are reaching for points and threes.

Impact Dario Saric (ankle) sat out on Tuesday, and Johnson once again stepped into a more significant role. The former first-round pick was bound to make the leap from role player to starter eventually, and the perfect storm of Saric's injury and Kelly Oubre's absence crystallizes that opportunity. While a timeshare is the likely end result at the four, Johnson's skill set is ideally suited for either forward position due to his shotmaking and defensive ability.

Impact Johnson's minutes got an increase after Dario Saric left with an injury, but his role was likely to expand anyway. Kelly Oubre's status for bubble play remains up in the air, and it's entirely possible that the Suns will be without his services. While Mikal Bridges should continue to hold down a significant role on the wing, Oubre's absence leaves a big hole to fill, and Johnson is ideally positioned to take on more work, especially if Saric is out for more than a game or two.
