With CJ McCollum (COVID-19 protocols) and Brandon Ingram (hamstring) sidelined for the foreseeable future, there should be plenty of minutes to go around, especially given New Orleans opted to run with a bigger lineup Friday.

ImpactMurphy was recalled to the Pelicans on Wednesday and put on a show Friday. The rookie had played fewer than five minutes in each of his last five appearances at the NBA level, but with CJ McCollum (COVID-19 protocols) and Brandon Ingram (hamstring) both sidelined, he garnered an increased role off the bench and didn't disappoint. Before Friday, Murphy had scored in double figures just once -- 12 points against the Pistons on Feb. 1 -- and had grabbed a season-high six rebounds on three separate occasions. Given his career-high performance, the two-way player out of Virginia figures to have earned an increased role down the stretch.
