If Wood is unable to play, rookie Alperen Sengun would likely draw the start at center, while Daniel Theis and Kenyon Martin could see increased roles off the bench.

Impact Wood has been an absolute menace on both ends of the court and continues to play at a high level for the Rockets. He has four double-doubles over his last five appearances while also scoring at least 20 points in four of his last seven contests. Through 12 games in January, he's averaging 18.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.

Impact Wood's three-game double-double streak came to an abrupt halt Tuesday, though he likely would have cleared the 10-rebound mark had he played his typical workload. Ultimately, the problem with Wood's performance was his awful free-throw shooting and lack of supplementary stats outside of scoring and rebounding. Prior to Tuesday, he was on a nine-game streak of recording at least one steal or one block, and he was also averaging 2.1 assists. On Friday, the team will look to bounce back against another soft opponent in the Trail Blazers.

Impact Wood's excellent play continued in a nice win for the program. While the UNLV product's numbers aren't trending as high as his first season with Houston, he has an innate ability to pop with huge rebounding numbers in the right scenario and can often excel against the league's toughest defensive big men. You won't find a stiffer test inside than Rudy Gobert, and Wood certainly held his own in the contest. His 15 rebounds helped Wood raise his season averages to double-double numbers. He's currently averaging 17.5 points and 10.2 rebounds over 43 games this season.
