Surgery completed The Trail Blazers announced that Lillard underwent surgery Thursday in Philadelphia to repair a core injury causing chronic abdominal pain. The team plans to re-evaluate him in six... Impact Per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Lillard "feels good" following surgery, with Haynes' report also leaving the door open for the star point guard to be re-evaluated in as soon as five weeks rather than six. Regardless, Lillard looks safe to rule out through at least the end of February, as he'll almost certainly require another week of ramp-up time to regain conditioning even if doctors give him the green light to resume basketball activities at the short end of the 5-to-6-week timeline. Even after winning their last two games, the Trail Blazers sit at 16-24 for the season, so the organization may not have motivation to rush Lillard back into action in what's shaping up to be a non-contending year. Anfernee Simons and CJ McCollum are expected to handle the majority of the ball-handling and scoring responsibilities out of the backcourt during Lillard's absence, though neither player will be available Thursday in Denver due to personal matters.
