DeMarcus Cousins - Plans to sign with Denver The Nuggets announced Tuesday that they are planning to sign Cousins to a rest-of-season contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Impact There isn't an official deal yet, but Shams relays that the contract is expected to be signed within the coming days. Presumably, the big man should be back with Denver by the end of the week. Cousins' final 10-day contract with the Nuggets expired over All-Star Weekend, and he is technically a free agent, but he figures to have his best opportunity for consistent playing time with Denver. During his two previous 10-day contracts, the veteran averaged 6.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 13.1 minutes while operating as the primary backup to Nikola Jokic. He figures to have a similar role for the remainder of the campaign.
