James Wiseman - Likely to ramp up in G LeagueWiseman said Wednesday that he will "most likely" appear in games for the Warriors' G League affiliate before making his 2021-22 NBA debut, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.ImpactAfter a prolonged recovery from meniscus repair surgery he required in April followed by an arthroscopic procedure on the same right knee in December, Wiseman is finally nearing the finish line in his rehab program. He took a significant step forward Wednesday by taking part in 5-on-5 scrimmaging, and he'll likely head to the G League during the upcoming NBA All-Star break to continue practicing on a regular basis. Once he's deemed ready for game action, Wiseman looks as though he'll first ramp up with the Santa Cruz Warriors, as he won't have the luxury of picking up consistent minutes with the NBA team, at least not right away. Whenever he receives the green light to suit up for Golden State, Wiseman will likely be eased into the rotation as the main backup to Kevon Looney, who has performed well defensively as the team's starting center this season.
