Robert Dillingham - Pops for 15 to wrap up preseasonDillingham scored 15 points (6-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt) while adding seven assists and two rebounds in 26 minutes during Thursday's 132-126 preseason loss to the Nuggets.
ImpactWhile Denver trotted out its likely starting five for the regular season, Minnesota elected to rest all its key players, giving bench players like Dillingham a chance to making one final good impression on Minnesota's coaches. The 19-year-old guard flashed his offensive skills this preseason, but while he's a big part of the team's future, Dillingham likely won't have a huge role in the Timberwolves' backcourt to begin his NBA career.
OCTOBER 18ROTOWIRE
Luka Garza - Hits for 29 in preseason lossGarza scored a team-high 29 points (11-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT) while adding nine rebounds and an assist in 32 minutes during Thursday's 132-126 preseason loss to the Nuggets.
ImpactWhile Denver trotted out its likely starting five for the regular season, Minnesota elected to rest all its key players, giving reserves like Garza a chance to shine. It's the second in five exhibition games that the 25-year-old center has come within one rebound of a 20-10 night. Despite those performances, Garza isn't expected to see consistent minutes in the regular season as part of a T-wolves frontcourt that should be dominated by Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle and Naz Reid (shoulder).

Michael Porter Jr. - Productive in Thursday's outingPorter scored 16 points (7-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) while adding eight rebounds in 23 minutes during Thursday's 132-126 preseason win over the Timberwolves.
ImpactThere wasn't much defense being played Thursday, but that suited Porter just fine. The 26-year-old forward has been in midseason form from the jump during the Nuggets' exhibition schedule, producing 26.2 points per 36 minutes while shooting 61.0 percent from the floor (25-for-41) and 37.5 percent (6-for-16) from three-point range.
OCTOBER 18ROTOWIRE
Jamal Murray - Leads starters in preseason winMurray scored 25 points (6-13 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 8-8 Ft) while adding five assists, two steals and two blocks in 29 minutes during Thursday's 132-126 preseason win over the Timberwolves.
ImpactThe Nuggets used their full starting lineup Thursday, and Murray led the group in scoring, although Julian Strawther erupted for 33 off the bench for Denver. Murray hasn't played more than 65 games in a regular season since 2018-19, and staying healthy will be the most important goal in 2024-25 for the 27-year-old point guard. He's remained productive when he's been on the court however, averaging at least 20.0 points, 4.0 assists, 4.0 boards, 2.5 threes and 1.0 steals in three straight seasons.
