He's been sidelined since March 8 and can safely be ruled out for the rest of the season, but it remains unclear how the surgery will impact his availability for the 2022-23 campaign. Sankofa relays that Smith injured the same ACL during his time at UCLA, so the Pistons will likely be extremely cautious with their young forward.
