Meager numbers in return Sabonis (COVID-19 protocols) played 26 minutes and finished with nine points (4-8 FG, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds and four assists Sunday in the Pacers' 98-85 loss to the Cavaliers. Impact Sabonis made only his third appearance of the past two and a half weeks, as the two-time All-Star missed four games with a sprained left ankle and three more after testing positive for COVID-19. In his first game since exiting the health and safety protocols, Sabonis dealt with some early foul trouble and may have had a light playing-time restriction in place, but he shouldn't face any limitations in the games to come. Unless Indiana ships him elsewhere ahead of the Feb. 10 trade deadline, Sabonis seemingly has the upside to increase his season-long averages of 18.9 points and 5.0 assists per game. Myles Turner (foot), T.J. Warren (foot), T.J. McConnell (wrist) are out indefinitely, the newly acquired Ricky Rubio (knee) is out for the season and Malcolm Brogdon has played just two games since December due to a recurring Achilles issue that could result in him being shut down at some point. Meanwhile, the Pacers dealt Caris LeVert away to the Cavaliers on Sunday, leaving Sabonis as one of the few healthy players on the roster capable of shouldering heavy usage on offense.
