Kevin Huerter - Game-time call FridayHuerter (illness) is questionable for Friday's game against the Rockets, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
ImpactHuerter was unable to take part in Thursday's practice, and the team will likely monitor his status closely leading up to Friday's tipoff. Malik Monk and Terence Davis would be in line for more minutes if Huerter is ruled out.

Kevin Porter Jr. - Unavailable FridayPorter (foot) has been ruled out of Friday's contest against the Kings, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.
ImpactAfter exiting early Wednesday following a collision with teammate Jae'Sean Tate, Porter will miss the Rockets' next game with a left foot contusion. Expect Kenyon Martin and Jae'Sean Tate to see increased minutes while Porter is out. Porter's next chance to return to action will be Sunday against the Clippers.

Kevin Huerter - Unable to practice ThursdayHuerter (illness) didn't practice Thursday, Frankie Cartoscelli of Sactown Sports 1140 reports.
ImpactHuerter was unavailable Wednesday against the Rockets due to a non-COVID illness, and the issue prevented him from practicing a day later. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to suit up for Friday's rematch against Houston.

Kenyon Martin Jr. - Clears 20-point markMartin finished with 21 points (9-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 0-2 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 27 minutes in Wednesday's 135-115 loss to the Kings.
ImpactWith 20-plus minutes in each of the Rockets' past six games, Martin has seemingly established himself as Houston's top forward off the bench ahead of rookie Tari Eason, who is averaging 18.3 minutes per contest over that same span. The recent return of Jae'Sean Tate from injury hasn't been especially detrimental to either Martin or Eason, as Tate has instead settled in as the Rockets' primary backup point guard while TyTy Washington has been cut out of the rotation and sent to the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers. That being said, Martin doesn't look as though he'll have much room to see his role expand, and even after Wednesday's scoring outburst, he's still averaging a modest 11.0 points over that aforementioned six-game stretch on what is probably unsustainable shooting (57.4 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range). Martin still looks like more of an option for deeper category and points leagues rather than 12-team formats or shallower.

Garrison Mathews - Reemerges with solid performanceMathews registered 12 points (4-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 18 minutes during Wednesday's 135-115 loss to Sacramento.
ImpactMathews entered Wednesday having played just 12 minutes and scored just three points over his previous two games combined, but his court time jumped to 18 minutes against Sacramento. The fourth-year pro took advantage of the opportunity by registering his highest scoring output since he put up 20 points against Atlanta on Nov. 25. All of Mathews' points came from deep Wednesday, as he shot an efficient 4-for-6 from three-point range. Considering Mathews was averaging just 3.6 points on 29.8 percent shooting over his 17 games prior to Wednesday's showing, there's no reason for fantasy managers to seek him out on the waiver wire.

Jalen Green - Shooting woes continueGreen ended Wednesday's 135-115 loss to the Kings with 26 points (9-25 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 5-7 FT), five rebounds and three assists in 39 minutes.
ImpactThough Green led the Rockets with 26 points, he needed 25 shots to reach that mark. He appears to have the green light as he tries to work his way out of a shooting slump that has seen him make just 35 of 108 field-goal attempts (32.4 percent) over his past seven games. While Green's fairly consistent scoring output can be nice from a fantasy perspective, he's one of the game's biggest field-goal drains -- among qualified players averaging at least 20 points per contest, none have a lower field-goal rate than Green's 40.4 percent mark.
JANUARY 12, 2023ROTOWIRE
Alperen Sengun - Historic performance in lossSengun totaled 10 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists and one steal across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 135-115 loss to the Kings.
ImpactSengun led Houston in both rebounds and assists in the contest, and by tallying a 10/10/10 line he became the youngest center in NBA history to record a triple-double, per the Associated Press. The 20-year-old has shown marked improvement in his second professional season, as he's raised his per-game output in nearly every offensive category while increasing his field-goal percentage and free-throw rate over seven points each to 54.9 percent and 78.6 percent, respectively. Over his past three games, Sengun is averaging 16.0 points, 10.7 boards and 5.0 assists while logging 31.7 minutes per contest.
