Jalen Smith - Traded to Pacers Smith and a second-round pick were traded Thursday from the Suns to the Pacers for Torrey Craig, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Impact It's been no secret the Suns have failed to utilize Smith, who was the 10th overall pick in 2020. He's appeared in just 56 games in two years, with averages of 4.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in 9.6 minutes. In theory, he has a better chance of seeing minutes with the rebuilding Pacers, but Indiana also has an interest in developing Goga Bitadze, Isaiah Jackson, Oshae Brissett and Terry Taylor.

While resting and rehabbing for the past three weeks, Brogdon appears to have made progress on some level, though he may still have a few more hurdles to clear in the recovery process before getting the green light to play. He can probably be viewed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Cavaliers, but Brogdon looks like he might have a chance to make it back in action before the All-Star break.

Myles Turner - Out through All-Star break Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle confirmed Thursday that Turner (foot) will be shut down through the All-Star break, James Boyd of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Impact Turner hasn't played since Jan. 14, and the Pacers only have four more games before the break, so this news shouldn't come as a surprise. The Pacers are hopeful the NBA's best shot blocker (2.8 per game) can return to action shortly after the break, but Turner remains without a firm timetable. Prior to sustaining a stress reaction in his left foot, Turner averaged 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.5 three-pointers in 29.4 minutes. Whenever he returns, Turner will be rejoining a frontcourt that no longer contains Domantas Sabonis, who was traded to the Kings on Tuesday.

Tyrese Haliburton - Expected to play Friday Haliburton is expected to be available for Friday's game against the Cavaliers, Tony East of the West Indianapolis Community News reports.

Impact Haliburton was one of three players traded to the Pacers on Tuesday, and it appears likely that he'll be able to make his team debut against Cleveland. The 21-year-old served exclusively as a starter for Sacramento to begin the season, and he averaged 14.3 points, 7.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 34.5 minutes per game. He'll likely take on a starting role in Indiana and should serve as the team's primary point guard while Malcolm Brogdon (Achilles) is out.
