Handed walking papers
Gilyard was waived by the Cavaliers on Monday, Sam Amico of HoopsWire.com reports.
Impact
Gilyard was brought in on an Exhibit 10 deal for training camp and should have a good chance to return to Cleveland's G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge for the beginning of the regular season.

ROTOWIRE
Joins Cleveland for camp
Gilyard signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Cavaliers on Tuesday, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.
Impact
The Cavaliers recently acquired Gilyard's G League rights, so it's not surprising that he'll be brought in for training camp as well. He's made 42 career NBA appearances over the past two seasons, most notably drawing 14 starts for the injury-riddled Grizzlies last year.

ROTOWIRE
Good to go
Gilyard (hip) has been cleared to play Friday against the Knicks.

Joins the Nets
Gilyard and the Nets agreed to a two-way contract Friday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Impact
Gilyard made 37 appearances for the Grizzlies this season before the franchise let him go. He averaged 4.7 points, 3.5 assists, 1.2 rebounds and 1.4 three-pointers in 17.7 minutes for Memphis, and now he could see some opportunities with the Nets due to the amount of injuries in Brooklyn.

Impact
Gilyard averaged 4.7 points, 1.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.6 triples across 17.7 minutes in 37 games (14 starts) for Memphis this season. Assuming the second-year guard clears waivers, he will be free to look for a new landing spot of his choice.

ROTOWIRE
Joins second unit
Gilyard will come off the bench for Thursday's game against the Bulls.
Impact
Memphis' rotations are all over the place due to injuries across the roster. Gilyard has played really well in his previous three contests, but the Grizzlies are rolling with Scotty Pippen as their starting point guard Thursday.

ROTOWIRE
Solid production in loss
Gilyard recorded 13 points (5-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt), two rebounds, six assists and two steals across 36 minutes during Sunday's 131-91 loss to Boston.
Impact
Gilyard drew his second straight start for the injury-depleted Grizzlies and delivered another strong performance. Over the last two games, Gilyard has totaled 29 points (10-19 FG), 11 assists, four rebounds, four steals and one block while averaging 34.0 minutes per game. If he's able to maintain this type of role, Gilyard should be on fantasy radars, especially in deeper leagues.

ROTOWIRE
Starting against Warriors
Gilyard will start against the Warriors on Friday.
Impact
Gilyard will be replacing Scotty Pippen in the first unit. Gilyard hasn't fared well as a starter this season, posting averages of 6.6 points, 4.4 assists, 1.6 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.9 three-pointers in 24.5 minutes.

ROTOWIRE
Struggles despite opportunity
Gilyard ended Monday's 103-94 loss to the Kings with three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and one steal over 16 minutes.
Impact
Despite the fact the Grizzlies were without several key pieces, Gilyard still struggled to have any sort of tangible impact. He has scored double-digits only three times all season, with his only upside being in the assists department. Other than being a speculative stream option, managers are likely to find a more reliable option on most waiver wires.

ROTOWIRE
Moves to second unit
Gilyard will come off the bench for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans.
Impact
No surprises here, as Ja Morant is returning from his 25-game suspension Tuesday. Gilyard will likely serve as the backup point guard until Derrick Rose (hamstring, week-to-week) gets the green light.

Sniffs double-double as starter
Gilyard recorded 12 points (4-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt), one rebound, seven assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Monday's 116-97 loss to the Thunder.
Impact
Gilyard started for the first time since Nov. 26 and delivered a strong performance given how outmatched the Grizzlies looked in a 19-point loss to a superior team such as Oklahoma City. Expect Gilyard to return to the bench since Ja Morant (suspension) is eligible to return Tuesday against the Pelicans.
