Checking into hospital McCain (undisclosed) will be checked out at a hospital after Wednesday's preseason game against the Nets, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.

Impact McCain took a hard fall late in the fourth quarter and appeared to have the wind knocked out of him before heading to the locker room. The 76ers medical staff's evaluation of McCain included concussion testing but specifics regarding the injury are few and far between. Regardless, McCain will undergo further evaluation at a hospital following the contest. The 76ers have one more preseason game -- Friday at Orlando -- before starting the regular season Oct. 23.

Headed to locker room McCain went back to the locker room after taking a hard fall during Wednesday's preseason game against the Nets, Austin Krell of USA Today reports.

Impact The specifics of McCain's injury are unknown but it wouldn't be surprising to see the rookie be held out as a precaution. After spending some time on the floor, McCain was able to walk off the hardwood and into the locker room with minimal help, which is encouraging. While he's out, Jeff Dowtin and Ricky Council could see more minutes.

Impact McCain shined during a spot start Saturday, posting 20 points (9-21 FG) in 32 minutes. However, with Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Oubre and Paul George back in action, the rookie will return to a reserve role.

Impact On a night when the 76ers rested their entire starting unit, McCain stood tall, leading all scorers with 20 points. The rookie has impressed since arriving in Philadelphia, staking his claim to be a part of the rotation come Opening Night. However, as well as he has played, it's hard to see him playing meaningful minutes on a regular basis. He has some appeal in deeper formats but those in standard leagues can safely look elsewhere.

Impact The Sixers are resting most of their starters and veterans for this game, so the former Duke standout will be part of a young first unit. KJ Martin, Jeff Dowtin, Ricky Council IV and Guershon Yabusele will form the rest of the starting unit.

Impact McCain led the 76ers in playing time by a wide margin, and there's no question the Duke product made his presence felt on both ends of the court. As good as he's looked both in the Summer League and preseason, McCain will likely struggle to crack the rotation in a win-now Sixers roster, meaning his fantasy appeal won't be very high in most formats outside of dynasty leagues -- regardless of how productive and efficient he looks in the remaining preseason games.

The 20-year-old did struggle from three; however, he shot 41.4 percent from deep at Duke so one Summer League game should not be a concern. McCain spent one season playing college hoops, during which he averaged 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals.
