Tears ACL, done for season Ingles was diagnosed Monday with a season-ending torn ACL after he suffered the non-contact left knee injury in Sunday's 126-106 loss to the Timberwolves, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESP... Impact The Jazz were bracing for bad news after Ingles required assistance off the court Sunday, and the MRI confirmed the team's worst fears. After finishing as the runner-up to teammate Jordan Clarkson in the NBA's Sixth Man Award balloting a year ago, Ingles had taken a step back this season before suffering the knee injury, averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 24.9 minutes. He was also shooting a career-worst 34.7 percent from beyond the arc. Even so, his absence for the remainder of the season is a major blow to the Jazz's depth, as the team will now have to rely more heavily on the likes of Trent Forrest, Danuel House (COVID-19 protocols) and Jared Butler to fill minutes on the wing. According to Wojnarowski, Ingles is expected to undergo surgery within the next couple of weeks. Based on the timing of his procedure, Ingles -- who is ticketed for free agency this offseason -- is expected to miss a large portion of the 2022-23 season as well.
