However, he was sidelined again for Saturday's loss to Utah, this time due to swelling in his left knee. Given his recent injuries, it's not surprising to see Philadelphia taking a cautious approach with the reigning MVP. Embiid's official status for Wednesday's game in Atlanta likely won't released until Tuesday afternoon.

Impact Embiid was a late addition to the injury report Saturday afternoon and was carrying a questionable tag prior to this update. He didn't take the floor for warmups, however, and was ruled out shortly after. Embiid is dealing with some swelling after he twisted his knee Friday against the Knicks, but the good news for the 76ers is that they don't play again until Wednesday against Atlanta. Paul Reed will start in Embiid's place and is likely to see heavy minutes.

Impact Embiid chipped in 30 points (10-23 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 9-12 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal over 36 minutes during Friday's 128-92 loss to the Knicks, but he was spotted limping more than once, so the questionable tag isn't entirely surprising. The star big man said post game that he twisted his knee in Friday's contest against New York. His absence would represent a huge absence for the Sixers, and it would probably translate into more minutes for Paul Reed. Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey and even Kelly Oubre could also benefit from more touches if Embiid is ruled out.
