Impact Davis was sidelined for practice Thursday and Friday due to a knee issue, and while the extent of Davis' production and the activity level of Sunday's practice remain unclear, it's a positive sign to see the rookie back in the mix. If fully healthy, Davis could see an increased workload to start the campaign with Corey Kispert (ankle) sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks and with Bradley Beal (COVID-19) in the health and safety protocols.

Impact Davis was unable to convert on any of his field goals Friday. However, he was able to be disruptive on defense and get to the free throw line. Ultimately, Davis will take time to adjust to the NBA and will likely come off the bench to start the season.

Impact After a rough debut Saturday night against Detroit (six points, 1-11 FG), Davis was able to bounce back with a more encouraging effort in what turned into a blowout win for Washington. Davis has plenty of upside as a scorer, rebounder and defender, but he'll likely be a fringe target in most fantasy leagues to begin the year. However, Davis should have a chance to earn a sizable role in Washington, so he could emerge as a decent points/rebounds/steals target if he's able to avoid some of the usual rookie-guard pitfalls.

Impact Davis was selected with the No. 10 overall pick in last month's draft, and he's expected to compete for the starting point guard spot with Monte Morris. Saturday marked Davis' first action as a professional. He struggled shooting the ball and committed five fouls. On a positive note, the rookie made his way to the free-throw line for four attempts and kept his turnovers (two) low.
