Impact Isaac was expected to be under a heavy minutes restriction in his first NBA action in over two years, so head coach Jahmal Mosley's announcement that the forward will likely play only 8-to-10 minute comes as little surprise. Though fantasy managers who have patiently stashed Isaac since the beginning of the season may be eager to activate him, it may be prudent to keep him in an injured reserve spot until his playing time ramps up a bit more.

Impact Isaac will step back on an NBA court for the first time since Aug. 2, 2020, after an extended rehab from ACL and hamstring surgeries. He made three appearances in the G League before rejoining Orlando and averaged 15.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 blocks over 17.7 minutes per game, playing no more than 22 minutes in any contest. He'll likely be facing a similar minutes limit for Monday's tilt and could have his workloads managed carefully the rest of the season. Considering the amount of frontcourt talent Orlando has added to its roster since Isaac last played, it's unclear how large of a role the 2017 lottery pick will be able to claim. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Isaac to repeat his 2019-20 averages of 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 2.3 blocks, but his skill set at least make him worthy of a cursory pickup in deep leagues where he's available.

The Magic have remained relatively quiet regarding Isaac's status throughout the process, but his ability to play in a competitive game is obviously a massive step in the right direction. If all goes well during the two-game G League assignment, he could be ready to make his first NBA appearance since Aug. 2, 2020. Once available, Isaac will likely play a reserve role, though it's unclear exactly where he'll fit in a rotation that's significantly different than the last time he suited up. During the 2019-20 campaign, Isaac averaged 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.6 steals and 1.4 assists in 28.8 minutes per game (34 appearances).
