Leads team with 19 points Alvarado registered 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt), four rebounds, four steals and two assists across 20 minutes during Saturday's 107-97 loss to the Celtics. Impact After largely being excluded from the rotation through the first two-plus months of the season, Alvarado has wrested the backup point guard job from Tomas Satoransky since the calendar flipped to January. Not only has Alvarado played well enough to solidify his position on the second unit, but he could begin to eat into starter Devonte' Graham's minutes if he continues to play at a high level. Over his last five games -- including one contest in which Graham sat out due to injury -- Alvarado is averaging an impressive 9.6 points (on 50 percent shooting from the field), 2.6 assists, 2.4 steals, 1.6 rebounds and 1.0 three-pointers in 19.8 minutes. The two-way rookie from Georgia Tech has firmly put himself on the radar in 14-team leagues and deeper, and he could soon gain relevance in shallower formats if the Pelicans elect to de-prioritize Graham in the weeks to come.
