Impact Garrett's cut comes as part of a roster consolidation alongside Charlotte's peripheral role in facilitating the Karl-Anthony Towns trade with New York and Minnesota. The 25-year-old was on a training camp contract, and he will be rewarded financially if he opts to stick with Charlotte's G League affiliate.

Signs deal with Charlotte Garrett and the Hornets agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract Wednesday, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Impact Garrett will join the Hornets for training camp and is likely going to end up playing for the Swarm in the G League. Since graduating from Kansas, Garrett has spent most of his time in the G League, but he did make 12 appearances for Miami on a two-way contract as a rookie.
