Could miss rest of season The Heat have yet to clear Morris from the neck injury he suffered Nov. 8, and the 32-year-old forward could be in danger of missing the rest of the season, Anthony Chiang and Barr... Impact According to the report, Morris and his agent have been campaigning for the forward to return to the court, but the Heat have been reluctant to do so while he continues to work his way back from the case of "whiplash" he experienced when he was shoved to the floor by the Nuggets' Nikola Jokic three months ago. Though Miami is currently attributing Morris' absence to "return to competitive reconditioning" following a bout with COVID-19 in early-to-mid-January, he's since cleared the NBA's health and safety protocols. Morris, who didn't travel with the Heat on its current six-game road trip and has been working out on his own, has a previous history of neck issues, which may explain why the Heat have been reluctant to clear him. He previously missed six weeks during the 2018-19 season due to a case of neck and upper-back stiffness that led to him being diagnosed with transient cervical neurapraxia.
