Ja Morant - On track to return Friday Morant (back) went through practice Thursday and is on track to play Friday against the Hawks, Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com reports. He is officially questionable.
Impact The Grizzlies held Morant out of Tuesday's blowout win over Indiana due to a sore back, but the issue was never believed to be anything serious. Expect Morant to be back in the lineup at his usual point guard spot Friday. He's coming off of a 17-point, 10-assist, five-rebound showing against the Thunder on Sunday.

De'Anthony Melton - Plays well in Morant's absence Melton supplied 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt), three rebounds, six assists and three steals in 28 minutes during Tuesday's 135-102 victory over the Pacers.
Impact Melton saw extended run due to Ja Morant's (back) absence and the blowout win, leading to a strong performance. He matched his season-high six assists and came up just four points shy of matching his season high 22, so it was one of his better all-around efforts of the campaign, especially when factoring in the three steals.

Ja Morant - Will be game-time decision Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said Morant (back) will be a game-time decision ahead of Tuesday's contest against the Pacers, Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com reports.
Impact Morant is officially listed as doubtful due to back soreness, but he's still expected to go through pre-game warmups. An initial report had suggested that he didn't participate in the team's morning shootaround, but he was only in street clothes during the media portion of the shootaround, per Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian. Hill also relays that Morant's back issue stems from a fall against Minnesota at the end of February and the team is just being precautionary with their All-Star guard. The Grizzlies don't play again until Friday, so it'd make sense for Memphis to give Morant extended time off to make sure his back is right for the stretch run.
