Ja Morant - Scan shows sprained left knee Morant has been diagnosed with a sprained left knee after undergoing an initial scan, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Impact This looks to be a massive sigh of relief for Memphis after the ascending star guard exited Friday's contest with what looked like it might be a serious injury. While he'll need to undergo additional testing to determine the severity of the sprain, the fact that the initial scan did not indicate a tear means Morant has avoided the worst-case scenario. Chances are, he'll still be set to miss several weeks, however, so fantasy managers in season-long leagues should be prepared to move Morant to a temporary IR spot. Looking ahead, Morant can safely be ruled out for Sunday's game against Sacramento.
