Jimmy Butler - Won't play TuesdayButler (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Pistons, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
ImpactButler will miss a second straight game due to a right ankle sprain. Haywood Highsmith and Kevin Love started at the forward spots during Sunday's loss to Minnesota, but Jaime Jaquez, Pelle Larsson and Duncan Robinson are also candidates for increased roles until Butler is cleared to return. Butler's next chance to suit up will come Friday in Indiana.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. - Low minutes in returnJaquez (illness) played 16 minutes off the bench and finished with seven points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in Sunday's 95-94 win over the...
ImpactMaking his return from a three-game absence due to an illness, Jaquez's minutes were held in check even though the Heat were without starting small forward Jimmy Butler (ankle). The Heat are seemingly viewing Butler as day-to-day, and so long as Butler avoids an extended absence, Jaquez may not see his playing time increase dramatically in the games to come.

Julius Randle - Adjustment to new team continuesRandle totaled 17 points (6-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, six assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Sunday's 95-94 loss to the Heat.
ImpactThe veteran forward continues to put up solid, if somewhat disappointing, numbers for the Timberwolves. While Randle's efficiency has gone up -- he's shooting 53.1 percent from the floor, his best mark since 2017-18, and 40.9 percent from three-point range, his best performance since 2020-21 -- his usage has gone down compared to his last few years with the Knicks, and he has yet to attempt 20 shots in a game for Minnesota. Randle's 6.7 boards a game is also on pace for a career low, as he's never finished a season below 8.0. As the third wheel on a team with Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert in well-defined roles, this level of production may be the new normal for Randle.

Anthony Edwards - Productive again in lossEdwards recorded a team-high 22 points (8-24 FG, 4-14 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, six assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Sunday's 95-94 loss to the Heat.
ImpactIt's a testament to how good a start to the season Edwards has had that this was actually one of his quieter efforts. The fifth-year forward has yet to score less than 21 points in a game, averaging 28.3 points, 5.8 boards, 5.4 threes, 3.8 assists and 1.4 combined steals and blocks through the first 10 contests of 2024-25, and he's on pace for career-high shooting rates with a 47.1 percent mark from the floor and 45.8 percent from long distance. Edwards has massively increased his shot volume from beyond the arc -- he's averaging 11.8 three-point attempts a game, after putting up just 6.7 a game last season -- and so far it's paying off for him and for fantasy GMs who invested an early pick in him.

Haywood Highsmith - Busy on defense in first startHighsmith had seven points (2-5 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, one block and five steals over 33 minutes during Sunday's 95-94 victory over the Timberwolves.
ImpactMaking his first start of the season with Jimmy Butler (ankle) out, Highsmith tied his career high in steals for a game, although he didn't offer much else from a fantasy perspective. The 27-year-old has taken on a big role in the Heat's frontcourt rotation of late, playing more than 30 minutes in three straight contests and averaging 13.7 points, 3.0 boards, 2.3 steals and 2.0 threes during that stretch. Highsmith will likely shift back to the second unit when Butler's ready to return, but he seems to be earning Erik Spoelstra's trust.
