Signed to one-year deal Brown and the Cavaliers agreed Sunday on a rest-of-season contract, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports. Impact Brown's status as a two-way player would have left him unable to compete in the play-in tournament and the Cavaliers' subsequent playoff run, so Cleveland chose to upgrade him to a standard NBA deal to make him eligible for the postseason. After starting five straight games from March 30 through April 5 while averaging 12.4 points, 11.8 boards and 0.6 blocks in 25.0 minutes, Brown nearly fell out of the rotation in Friday's loss to the Nets after Evan Mobley (ankle) returned to action. Brown played just three minutes Friday, and his playing time will likely evaporate completely if Jarrett Allen (finger) is able to make it back for the play-in tournament.
