Herbert Jones - Ruled out Tuesday Jones (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Mavericks.
Impact Jones banged knees with an opponent during Sunday's loss to Utah and is listed as out for Tuesday's contest due to a hyperextension of his right knee. Brandon Ingram (concussion) and Zion Williamson (hip/back) are also out, so CJ McCollum will presumably have to lead the Pelicans offense against Luka Doncic and the Mavericks. Jones' next chance to suit up will come Friday against the Suns, but his availability moving forward is currently unclear.

Zion Williamson - Won't play Tuesday Williamson (hip/back) has been ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Mavericks.
Impact Williamson suffered a posterior hip and low back contusion after falling awkwardly during a dunk attempt against the Jazz on Saturday. The superstar forward appears to have avoided a major injury, but the Pelicans will keep him sidelined for at least one game. Brandon Ingram (concussion) and Herbert Jones (knee) are also out, leaving three open spots in New Orleans' starting lineup. Williamson will have a few days to recover before the Pelicans return to action against the Suns on Friday, though the big man's availability for that contest is far from certain.

Impact Pelicans head coach Willie Green said earlier Monday that Ingram wasn't in the protocol, but the 25-year-old has now been diagnosed with a concussion after exiting Sunday's game against the Jazz after being struck in the head. He'll be forced to miss Tuesday's game since he won't be able to begin the return-to-play process until 24 hours after the injury occurred, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available Friday against the Suns. Devonte' Graham and Trey Murphy should see increased run Tuesday.

Impact Per Summers, Jones banged his knee during Sunday's contest against Utah, though it didn't appear to affect him much, as he scored nine points across 35 minutes -- both season highs. Regardless, New Orleans likely will operate with the utmost caution, which may mean keeping the second-year forward sidelined for a game or two. Zion Williamson (hip) and Brandon Ingram (head) are also questionable, so it's possible the Pelicans will be without three starters for their showdown with Luka Doncic and the Mavericks.

Trey Murphy III - Scores 16 points despite loss Murphy amassed 16 points (6-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds and one assist over 40 minutes during Sunday's 122-121 overtime loss to the Jazz.
Impact Murphy has been playing off the bench in each of New Orleans' first three contests but has delivered encouraging numbers, scoring in double digits in two of those games while also shooting an impressive 51.9 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range. Don't be surprised if he gets more playing time in the coming games with both Brandon Ingram (head) and Zion Williamson (hip) dealing with injuries.

Impact Valanciunas started the season on a strong note and posted double-digit numbers in each of his first two appearances, but he wasn't able to repeat that here and was limited to his first single-digit scoring output of the campaign while also struggling from the field.
