CJ McCollum - Inks extension McCollum agreed Saturday with the Pelicans on a two-year, $64 million contract extension, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Impact McCollum's deal will keep him on the books through the 2025-26 season. After spending the first eight-and-a-half seasons of his career in Portland, he was dealt to New Orleans in February and carved out a nice role for himself in his new locale. The 31-year-old averaged a career-high 24.3 points following the trade to go along with 5.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 triples and 1.3 steals across 33.8 minutes per game in 26 outings. With 2019 No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson expected to return in 2022-23 after missing all of last season due to injury, the veteran McCollum will presumably take more of a back seat in the scoring department.
