Impact After missing the closing leg of the Suns' back-to-back set Sunday with right hamstring soreness, he was designated as out on PHoenix's initial injury report Wednesday. While it doesn't seem like the injury should keep him out long-term, his day-to-day tag certainly puts Durant's availability in question for Friday's game against Miami.

Impact Durant missed Monday's game versus Portland which was the second leg of a back-to-back set, but his "out" designation for Wednesday suggests that it was more than just a maintenance day. With Durant sidelined for a second straight game, this could be another opportunity for Chimezie Metu and Bol Bol. Metu started Monday's game and had 14 points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two three-pointers, while Bol had 11 points, nine rebounds, one assist and one triple in 20 minutes off the bench.

Impact Metu drew the spot start with Kevin Durant (hamstring) sidelined, although it was believed to be a maintenance day. Metu has fared well in three fill-in starts this campaign, averaging 12.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.3 three-pointers. With Durant expected back Wednesday versus Dallas, Metu will likely move back to the bench.

Impact The Suns were missing Kevin Durant (hamstring) on Monday, but Bates-Diop only picked up a few extra minutes. Bol Bol was the biggest beneficiary, as he nearly double-doubled in 20 minutes with 11 points, nine rebounds and one assist. Bates-Diop hasn't eclipsed 20 minutes in a single game since Nov. 26, and he'll likely remain a fringe rotation player going forward.

Durant is expected back for Wednesday's game versus Dallas, but Bol's performance Monday will likely be in the back of coach Frank Vogel's mind the next time his team is shorthanded.
