ImpactThe fifth overall pick in the 2022 Draft has had a strong start to the exhibition schedule, as he looks to prove he has a place in Detroit's future plans. Ivey should be set as the team's starting two-guard alongside Cade Cunningham to begin the season, but he'll either need to improve his scoring efficiency significantly or become an asset on the defensive end of the court, or both, if he's going to avoid losing minutes to the likes of Tim Hardaway and Malik Beasley.

ImpactHe led the Pistons in both scoring and rebounding on a night when both Tobias Harris and Ausar Thompson were sidelined by illness. Duren's production took a big step forward in his second NBA campaign, as he averaged 13.8 points and 11.6 boards over 61 games in 2023-24, and Detroit's new-look frontcourt could give the 20-year-old even more freedom to crash the glass when it's at full strength.

ImpactThe Suns' new starting point guard looked comfortable in his role, helping Kevin Durant produce a game-high 21 points in only 19 minutes. Jones averaged a career-high 7.3 assists a game for the Wizards in 2023-24, but given the wealth of offensive talent around him in Phoenix including Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, it wouldn't be surprising if the 28-year-old finds yet another level in that category this season.

Devin Booker - Struggles with shot TuesdayBooker scored 10 points (4-13 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding three assists, a rebound and a block in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 105-97 preseason win over the Pistons

ImpactIt was a rough shooting night for Booker, but with the regular season still two weeks away, the four-time All-Star has plenty of time to find his form. He's averaged better than 25 points in six straight seasons, and with Tyus Jones solidifying the point guard position for the Suns, Booker should be able to better focus on his scoring duties rather than taking on more of a distribution role. That also likely means he won't be able to repeat the career-high 6.9 assists per game he delivered in 2023-24, however.
