RJ Barrett - Remains sidelined WednesdayBarrett (finger) is out for Wednesday's matchup with the Spurs, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
ImpactBarrett will miss his fourth straight game with a right index finger laceration. Miles McBride, Quentin Grimes and Immanuel Quickley have all seen increased roles in his absence. Barrett's next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with Toronto.

Derrick Rose - Questionable WednesdayRose (knee) is questionable to play in Wednesday's game versus the Spurs, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
ImpactRose is questionable Wednesday after missing Monday's contest with a left knee contusion. However, with Jalen Brunson back in the lineup, the veteran point guard will likely lose his spot in the rotation even if he's healthy.

Obi Toppin - Upgraded to doubtfulToppin (lower leg) is doubtful for Wednesday's game versus the Spurs, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
ImpactToppin has been upgraded from out to doubtful after missing the last 13 games with a fracture in his right fibula. Even if the 24-year-old big man is unable to suit up Wednesday, as expected, his upgraded injury status is a good sign for his availability moving forward.

Cameron Johnson - Out again WednesdayJohnson (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against the Cavaliers, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ImpactJohnson hasn't played since Nov. 4 due to right knee surgery. He's reportedly participating in drills but has yet to advance to non-contact work, which suggests he'll remain sidelined for at least a few more games. However, the Suns are content handling his status game-by-game, so Johnson's next chance to suit up will come Friday against Miami.

Cameron Payne - Bags seven assists in returnPayne (foot) finished with eight points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven assists and one rebound across 18 minutes off the bench in Monday's 102-83 loss to the Knicks.
ImpactSuiting up for the first time since Dec. 13, Payne stepped back into his usual role as the Suns' top guard off the bench and came through with a useful assist total. While Chris Paul is healthy, Payne's overall fantasy upside will be capped, but he could have an opportunity to pick up a few extra minutes while the Suns turn to a collection of players to help fill in for Devin Booker (groin), who will likely be sidelined until at least late January. Payne, Landry Shamet, Damion Lee and Duane Washington may all absorb Booker's minutes to some degree.
JANUARY 3, 2023•ROTOWIRE
Landry Shamet - Modest numbers in returnShamet (Achilles) finished with six points (2-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists across 25 minutes in Monday's 102-83 loss to the Knicks.
ImpactBack in action after a three-game absence due to right Achilles soreness, Shamet stepped into the starting five and should remain in the top unit for the foreseeable future with Devin Booker (groin) likely sidelined until at least the latter part of January. Though Shamet wasn't able to capitalize on Booker's absence Monday, he likely won't have too many 2-for-9 outings from the field to drag down his stat line like it did against the Knicks. In his four games prior to injuring his Achilles, Shamet averaged 22.5 points and 5.5 triples per contest on 43.5 percent shooting from the field and 44 percent shooting from distance. At the very least, Shamet should make for a strong streaming option for three-pointers while Booker is out.
