With Williams out, Donovan Clingan should continue to see steady minutes as Deandre Ayton's backup.

Impact While the rookie center didn't see much court time behind DeAndre Ayton, Clingan made his presence felt at the defensive end. The seventh overall pick in the 2024 Draft has an impressive five blocks in 27 minutes through his first two NBA games, but if would likely take an Ayton injury or trade for Clingan to see enough action to be on the radar in most fantasy leagues.

Double-double against Pels Ayton amassed 10 points (5-14 FG, 0-1 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 33 minutes during Friday's 105-103 loss to the Pelicans.
Impact The 26-year-old center has posted double-doubles in the first two games of the season, although he scored only 10 points in each. Ayton has averaged a double-double every year of his career, but he's never developed a three-point shot and rarely gets to the free-throw line, limiting his value both in the modern NBA and in most fantasy formats.

Impact It was another shaky shooting night from the floor for Simons, but he compensated at the free-throw line. The 25-year-old guard is first and foremost looking to stay healthy in 2024-25 after playing no more than 62 games in any of the last three seasons, but he should begin to find his shooting stroke before long -- he hadn't post a FG% below 43.0 percent, or a 3Pt% below 37.7 percent, since becoming a starter in 2021-22.

Impact The 30-year-old forward drained a career-high eight threes but didn't get quite enough help from his teammates to pull off the upset. Grant has averaged better than 20 points a game in each of his first two seasons with Portland, but he could find another level as a scorer in 2024-25 with Toumani Camara and Deni Avdija added to the starting five for their defensive chops and not necessarily their offense.
