Impact McLaughlin will start at point guard in the preseason finale with De'Aaron Fox getting the night off. McLaughlin recorded nine points, four rebounds and five assists in 20 minutes off the bench in his last appearance Tuesday against the Jazz.

Impact Robinson is still on the mend from a knee injury and will miss his team's final exhibition. The Kings haven't provided much of an update on his status moving forward, so he'll be considered questionable for the regular-season opener Oct. 24 against Minnesota.

Impact McDermott adds another three-point sniper to a Sacramento offense predicated on perimeter handoffs and movement shooting. The 32-year-old was unable to contribute at a relevant level throughout Indiana's playoff run last year, but he has an opportunity to carve out regular-season minutes off the bench if Kevin Huerter (shoulder) -- who is fully cleared but yet to log preseason action -- is eased into gameplay.

DeMar DeRozan - Logs five steals in defeat DeRozan totaled 17 points (6-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, five assists and five steals in Tuesday's 117-114 loss to the Jazz.
Impact DeRozan could be the missing piece the Kings are searching for, but it will take some time for the veteran to fully realize his role. The Kings saw the benefit of a blue-chip scorer at the wing during Donte DiVincenzo's brief tenure with the team two seasons ago, and although Malik Monk has often given the team a spark with the second unit, the team has struggled with a proper first-unit combination for some time. If anything, DeRozan will help take the heat off De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, which Kevin Huerter and Harrison Barnes were unable to achieve consistently.

Keegan Murray - Heavy shot volume in loss Murray produced 21 points (8-19 FG, 5-11 3Pt), five rebounds, two steals and an assist across 37 minutes in Tuesday's 117-114 preseason loss to the Jazz.
Impact Although Murray is an effective shooter, his shot volume from the perimeter was uncharacteristic compared to his first two seasons with the Kings. He averaged 6.6 three-point attempts per game last season and made 10 or more attempts just 14 times. It's an encouraging sign for Murray, who could still be negatively affected by the arrival of DeMar DeRozan. If preseason results are any indication, the current combination is working well between the two wing men.

De'Aaron Fox - Struggles beyond the arc in loss Fox compiled 22 points (9-22 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and a steal across 36 minutes in Tuesday's 117-114 loss to the Jazz.
Impact Fox logged a full evening of work Tuesday evening, and it appears that the arrival of DeMar DeRozan will have little effect on the point guard's bottom line. DeRozan is a great addition, but Coach Mike Brown still intends to keep Fox and Domantas Sabonis as the cornerstones of the offense. Although Fox declined a $165 million contract extension in the offseason, the move is intended to give him a better bargaining position next year.

Impact Sabonis continued his dominant stretch of play Tuesday as he converted his first three-pointer of the preseason. Sabonis led the NBA in triple-doubles with 26 last season and doesn't appear to be slowing down heading into the 2024-25 campaign.

Impact DeRozan had a subpar performance Sunday from a scoring perspective, but neither the Kings nor the veteran forward should be overly worried about his numbers on a preseason game with the start of the new campaign right around the corner. DeRozan should be one of the most important players for the Kings in 2024-25 alongside De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

Even though he might experience a regression in his numbers after the Kings added DeMar DeRozan to the mix in the offseason, Sabonis' status as a double-double threat every time he steps on the hardwood shouldn't change. Even if this performance wasn't his best from an efficiency perspective, Sabonis still ended one point, two rebounds and three assists away from a triple-double, which speaks volumes about his versatility on the offensive end of the court.
