Devin Vassell - Makes most of expanded role Vassell tallied 22 points (8-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block across 27 minutes in Saturday's 133-129 loss to the Heat. Impact With all of Dejounte Murray (knee), Jakob Poeltl (back) and Keldon Johnson (back) sitting out the second leg of the back-to-back set Saturday, the onus was on Vassell to help fill some of the void as a scorer. The second-year player did just that, tying Keita Bates-Diop and Lonnie Walker for the team scoring lead to help keep the Spurs competitive against one of the Eastern Conference's top teams. Vassell's 30.9 percent usage rate from Saturday will almost certainly trend down in the likely event that all of Murray, Poeltl and Johnson are back for Monday's game in Memphis, but the Florida State product has firmly established himself as a player worth holding in 12-team leagues. Even in games where he takes a back seat as a scorer, Vassell typically makes up for it by being a consistent contributor in the steals and three-pointers categories.
