Devin Vassell - Season ends prematurely Vassell will be shut down for the remainder of the campaign due to a stress reaction in his right foot, Dan Weiss of Bally Sports San Antonio reports. Impact Vassell will miss San Antonio's final eight contests as a result of his stress fracture, marking the end of his third campaign which yielded 19.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists on 42.2/37.2/80.1 percent shooting across 68 appearances. The stress reaction is located in the third metatarsal of Vassell's right foot, likely stemming from chronic wear-and-tear as opposed to a specific incident. The 23-year-old underwent mid-season arthroscopic knee surgery last year and was able to return unencumbered for a strong stretch run, but evidence for a potential lack of durability is mounting. That being said, his ongoing injury typically comes with a 3-to-6 week healing timeline, so Vassell is in good position to begin a smooth recovery entering the offseason.
