Considered day-to-day Barnes didn't practice Tuesday and is considered day-to-day with a left knee sprain, Aaron Rose of SI.com reports. He is officially questionable Wednesday against the Nets.

Impact Barnes fell one assist shy of a triple-double last time out, notching 28 points (season high), 11 rebounds and nine assists, but he presumably picked up a knee injury as well. Given the second-year forward didn't practice Tuesday, it seems unlikely he'll be able to play Wednesday against the Nets, but Barnes' potential availability should become clearer when Toronto releases its initial injury report for the matchup against Brooklyn.

Impact Barnes set a new top mark on the year with 28 points, and he finished the matchup one assist shy of his second triple-double. The Florida State product has been impressive on the defensive end of late, recording at least one block and one steal in each of his last five matchups.

Impact Barnes isn't capitalizing on the absences of two high-usage teammates in Pascal Siakam (groin) and Fred VanVleet (illness), plus Gary Trent (hip) was out Monday. Since Siakam missed his first game back on Nov. 6, Barnes has averaged just 11.3 points on 35.4 percent shooting to go with 6.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 blocks. With Siakam, VanVleet and Trent all off the floor, Barnes actually sees his usage rate decrease by 5.5 percent. He's thrived as a connector within Toronto's offense, but it doesn't appear that he's ready to take on increased usage when the defense is focused on him.

Impact It's never pleasant when you finish with more field goal attempts than points, but this was the second game in a row it has happened to Barnes -- he's gone 8-for-25 from the field in that stretch.
