Ruled out Saturday McConnell will miss Saturday's contest against Detroit with a sore back, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Impact Indiana will also be without Tyrese Haliburton (knee), leaving the Pacers very thin in the backcourt. The absence of Indiana's top two point guards will pave the way for Andrew Nembhard and Chris Duarte to play extended minutes in what projects to be a great matchup for fantasy purposes.

Impact Even with starting point guard Tyrese Haliburton logging 37 minutes, head coach Rick Carlisle was still able to carve out a 20-plus-minute role for McConnell, whose lack of a perimeter game typically makes him a poor fit as an off-ball player. McConnell managed to produce well during his time on the floor, but considering he played fewer than 20 minutes in four of the past five games, fantasy players can't yet count on him seeing enough playing time alongside Haliburton to replicate Monday's stat line regularly.

Impact McConnell failed to reach double-digit attempts from the field for an eighth consecutive matchup, but he set his best scoring mark since Feb. 8 with the help of an efficient night. He also shouldered a heavier workload than usual, though this was likely due to the absence of Tyrese Haliburton (calf). McConnell will presumably see his minutes drop down to the 15-to-20-minute range once Haliburton is cleared for action.

Given Haliburton is available and will run most of the offense, it's safe to presume McConnell's usage won't be the same as his previous starts.
