2024 NBA Power Rankings: Separating all 30 teams into six tiers
Devonte' Graham - Let go by PortlandThe Trail Blazers waived Graham on Thursday.
ImpactDespite spending the preseason and training camp with the Trail Blazers, Graham was unable to make the regular-season roster. He will now enter the 2024-25 season as a free agent.
OCTOBER 17ROTOWIRE
Deandre Ayton - Efficient in limited minutesAyton had 13 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block across 18 minutes in Wednesday's 111-100 preseason win over Ratiopharm Ulm.
ImpactAyton was the only starter who didn't reach the 20-minute plateau in this one, but that's understandable since his role as the Trail Blazers' starting center is all but locked in. The big man should be one of Portland's top weapons on both ends of the court once the regular season begins against the Warriors on Oct. 23.
OCTOBER 17ROTOWIRE
Scoot Henderson - Leads Portland to victoryHenderson scored 23 points (10-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT) while adding five rebounds, six assists and two steals across 32 minutes in Wednesday's 111-100 preseason win over Ratiopharm...
ImpactHenderson is locked in at the starting point guard role for the start of the 2024-25 season, though the injuries of Anfernee Simons (ankle) and Shaedon Sharpe (shoulder) have played a role in that, too. Regardless, Henderson has looked sharp in preseason and could be poised to have a breakout season, or at least, he should improve the numbers he delivered as a rookie in 2023-24, when he averaged 14.0 points, 5.4 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting a meager 38.5 percent from the field across 62 regular-season contests.
OCTOBER 17ROTOWIRE
Toumani Camara - Records double-doubleCamara notched 15 points (5-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block across 35 minutes in Wednesday's 111-100 preseason win over Ratiopharm Ulm.
ImpactCamara was one of three Portland players who logged more than 30 minutes in this outing, with Scoot Henderson and Rayan Rupert being the others, and he made the most of his time out there. Even though he wasn't particularly efficient, Camara delivered a solid stat line across the board and is showing he's more than ready for the start of the regular season against the Warriors on Oct. 23, regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench.
OCTOBER 17ROTOWIRE
Jabari Walker - Tending to ankle sorenessWalker won't play in Wednesday's exhibition against Ratiopharm Ulm due to right ankle soreness.
ImpactWalker will miss his first preseason game Wednesday for what appears to be a minor ankle injury. His next chance to play will come Friday against the Jazz.
OCTOBER 17ROTOWIRE
Matisse Thybulle - Out again WednesdayThybulle (knee) will not play Wednesday versus Ratiopharm Ulm.
ImpactThybulle joins an extended list of injured Blazers who will not scrimmage the German squad, including Anfernee Simons (ankle) and Shaedon Sharpe (shoulder) in the backcourt. Thybulle's next opportunity to suit up comes Friday versus Utah.
