Mavericks take on the Bulls for cross-conference matchup

The Dallas Mavericks host the Chicago Bulls in a non-conference matchup
2 HOURS AGO•ASSOCIATED PRESS
Ayo Dosunmu - Impresses in spot startDosunmu provided 25 points (9-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one block in 35 minutes during Monday's 135-126 loss to the Jazz.
ImpactDosunmu slid into the starting five Monday due to the absence of Zach LaVine (hip), and he certainly didn't disappoint. His night was highlighted by a season-best 25 points while draining 69.2 percent of his tries from the field, finishing second on the team in scoring behind Coby White's 28-point performance. It would seem to be an easy decision for Chicago to give Dosunmu another opportunity to start Wednesday in Dallas if LaVine is unable to go.

Coby White - Leads scoring effortWhite recorded 28 points (10-19 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists and two steals across 34 minutes during Monday's 135-126 loss to Utah.
ImpactWhite continues to impress from beyond the arc and has hit five or more triples in three of his last four appearances. However, this is only one of the ways in which he's been producing for the Bulls, as he's been stuffing the stat sheet on a nightly basis to open the 2024-25 season. White is averaging 17.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals through his first seven games of the year.

Talen Horton-Tucker - Sees uptick in playing timeHorton-Tucker closed with 10 points (2-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes during Monday's 135-126 loss to the Jazz.
ImpactHorton-Tucker struggled to find his groove shooting the ball, but he still finished the night with season highs in points, rebounds, assists and minutes. The Iowa State product clearly benefitted from the absence of Zach LaVine (hip), who's timetable for a return is still up in the air. Both Horton-Tucker and Dalen Terry should be in line for more opportunities until LaVine can get back on the court.
