Monday debut not locked in Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said Saturday that Oladipo (knee) is "close" to making his season debut, but the 29-year-old will still need to receive final clearance from the trai... Impact Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Thursday that Oladipo was eyeing the start of the Heat's homestand for his 2021-22 debut, and while the matchup with the Rockets remains the two-time All-Star's target, his availability is not yet locked in. If Oladipo fares well during the Heat's morning shootaround Monday and gets the green light to play from the training staff, he'll likely be in store for a light role off the bench in what would mark his first game action in nearly 11 months. After coming over in a trade from Houston last March, Oladipo appeared in four games with the Heat before being shut down for the remainder of the season. He averaged 12.0 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.0 three-pointers in 27.8 minutes per game in those contests, but with the Heat having since added Kyle Lowry to the roster, Oladipo won't be guaranteed that level of playing time.
