Jonas Valanciunas - Agrees to deal with Washington Valanciunas agreed to a three-year, $30 million contract with the Wizards on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Impact Valanciunas played at least 74 regular-season games in each of his three seasons with the Pelicans, but his role declined slightly last year, as he averaged 12.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 23.5 minutes per game while appearing in every regular-season matchup. The 32-year-old should have a chance to bounce back as a veteran presence for the Wizards, who just acquired Alex Sarr with the No. 2 pick in this year's draft.

Tristan Vukcevic - Hits free agency The Wizards declined Vukcevic's (ankle) $2.42 million team option Friday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Impact Vukcevic was drafted with the No. 42 pick in 2023, and after just one year with the club he will enter free agency. The 21-year-old averaged 8.5 points and 3.6 rebounds across 15.3 minutes in 10 games last season.

Richaun Holmes - Agrees to 2-year deal with Wizards Holmes agreed to a two-year, $25.9 million contract with the Wizards on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Impact Holmes had to decline his $12.8 million player option prior to this agreement, so he secured himself a small raise. As for the second season of his deal, only $250,000 of it is guaranteed. Holmes figures to play a key role for the rebuilding Wizards in 2024-25 with this news, and he offers some intriguing fantasy appeal due to the lack of depth in Washington's frontcourt.

Impact The Knicks (via Dallas) initially owned the pick before the Wizards offered up the No. 26 pick and the No. 51 pick in order to move up two spots, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. George averaged 7.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as a freshman at Miami last season and was somewhat of a surprising one-and-done player. At 6-7 with a 6-10 wingspan, George has intriguing size and length, and he hit better than 40 percent of his catch-and-shoot threes last season. With that said, he's ultimately a project player at this stage, so Washington is a decent landing spot.

Carlton Carrington - Selected No. 14 by Washington The Wizards selected Carrington with the No. 14 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on Wednesday.
Impact While Carrington isn't an uber-athlete, he does have a nice feel for the game and solid size at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds. He's comfortable scoring in the mid-range, and while he's capable of hitting the 3-ball, he does need to show more consistency in connecting from beyond the arc. He finds himself in a crowded rotation in Washington, so minutes could be tough to come by early in the season.

Impact With a 9-foot-2 standing reach, jump-out-the-gym athleticism and impressive handles, Sarr is an extremely enticing prospect, and it's easy to see why he went No. 2 overall in the draft. He does have a slender frame that needs to fill out, and his offensive game remains a work in progress that's mostly inside the arc, but he should get plenty of opportunities in D.C. He has the potential to impact fantasy hoops right out of the gate with his shot-blocking ability.
