Not expected to play Jones and most other starters aren't expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Browns, Mark Craig of The Star Tribune reports.

Impact The Vikings played some starters in their preseason opener against Las Vegas, but Jones wasn't one of them and may now be joined by a longer list of resting players for the second exhibition. Jones is locked in as as the lead back in Minnesota, with the main question at this point being how much work Ty Chandler will get off the bench.

Unlikely to play Saturday Jones appears unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason opener against Las Vegas after sitting out practice Thursday for an undisclosed reason, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Impact Jones has looked sharp in training camp so this just may be rest for a veteran. However, check to make sure he hasn't been sidelined due to an injury. Jones is expected to start at running back and be a focal point of the offense, with the only question being how many touches he'll share with backup Ty Chandler to keep him fresh.
